The project starts from the theme of "recomposition of the relationship between central areas and vast area"; of "regeneration of urban space for the redevelopment of the public city;"

The new Piazza Carducci is the place where you can give shape to these themes, constituting a hinged and connection space, clearly delimited to the north by the historic centre of Conegliano, to the south by the railway belt.

The project for the new Piazza Carducci recognises some generating elements that define and characterise the space.

The perspective cone that from the Station and the square in front, leads to the facade of the Teatro dell'Accademia in Piazza Gian Battista Cima is a powerful element of "connection" also perceptual between the two places of the city, the Station and the heart of the historic centre.

The vast empty space of the new square and the predominantly flat and free soil, pose the theme of the "refunctionalisation" of spaces; the square is a plane, a surface always open and available to different activities, crossings and flows, place of aggregation and exchanges.

And finally the relationship of reciprocity between the square and its edges; between the building that defines it and the use that can be made of space in relation to it, they pose the theme of acting according to sustainable practises aimed at greater positivity and liveability of practises and spaces.
